Upbeat tracks by a fresh but popular Tame Impala-adjacent indie electronic pop band Dayglow, formed by 23-year-old Texas-born Sloan Struble:
Breakout single “Close to You”, released as a single last year under Struble’s own label Very Nice Records, then on the album Harmony House:
“Then It All Goes Away”, a preview single off upcoming October 7th album People in Motion.
Well, that was refreshing! Not compelled, yet, to add Dayglow to my short list of 21st-century faves, but I'm curious to learn more about Struble, and I may go from there! I just noticed he, too, is a fellow Texan, from tiny (2700+) Aledo, near Dallas.
BTW, current artist faves are Roosevelt and The Midnight (both of whom I've been moved to write about, already!)...I crow about that 'cause I'm 67, and finding new music that isn't suffocated by Auto-Tune and/or riddled by rap or hip-hop is increasingly difficult, and I'm delirious to find music by 20-somethings that comes close to bordering on the classic pop I grew up with!! Thanks for the Dayglow spotlight!
